Maureen Connell

Maureen Connell

Maureen has been a professional parish religious educator for more than 20 years. Born in Boston, and, after brief stops in Watertown, Waverly Square and 30 years in Newton, she has returned to her hometown and loves being a Bostonian.

Maureen graduated from Our Lady's High School in Newton and then attended Regis College where she received a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. After working in retail and marketing for many years, she answered the call of the Holy Spirit and began a rewarding ministerial career. She has worked as a Religious Education Coordinator and Director at Our Lady's in Newton, St. Mary's in Waltham, and for the past 7 years here at Corpus Christi-St. Bernard Parish.

Maureen received her Masters Degree in Religious Education  from the Institute of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry at Boston College. In addition to her ministry as an educator, she has worked as a Pastoral Associate at St. Mary's in Waltham and does pastoral ministry here as well. She graduated from the "Tending The Talents" initiative sponsored by The Catholic Leadership Institute - a program that assists lay leaders to further develop their pastoral skills for the challenges and opportunities faced in today's church. Maureen has also participated in Pastoral Planning Seminars offered by St. John's Seminary. She is also our parish Wedding Coordinator!

Maureen enjoys relaxing with friends, visiting museums, cheering on the Boston sports teams - especially the Red Sox - and loves watching Masterpiece Theatre.
