What is ARISE Together in Christ?
ARISE Together in Christ is a three-year parish-centered process of spiritual renewal and evangelization that enables people to deepen their faith, develop a closer relationship with Christ, grow in community, and reach out in service to others.
The ARISE program has been designed specifically for the Archdicese of Boston by Renew International, a worldwide organization that fosters spiritual renewal and revitalizing parish life.
All people of the Archdiocese of Boston are invited to come together to form a renewed community of laity and clergy, to welcome back those who may have been distanced from the Church, and to spread the Good News through active commitment to charity and justice.
What does this mean for Corpus Christi-St Bernard Parish?
An Invitation...With simple words, "Come and see..." Jesus invites the Apostles to get to know him, and each other, as they traveled together in faith. This group of acquaintances, soon to be friends, accepted Jesus' invitation and formed a small faith community.
ARISE is about building the same kind of small faith sharing communities.
A Journey.....With Christ as their center, the Apostles began a journey of faith which spanned their lifetimes and bears fruit even today. As their spiritual lives grew so did their commitment to serving the poor and the needy. Using their unique God-given gifts, they sought to transform the causes of injustice in their world.
ARISE is about this spiritual journey which leads us to live the Gospel in our daily lives.
An Opportunity....Gathering together to learn from their Teacher, the Apostles also nourished each other by sharing their stories. They supported each other, laughed and cried together, ate, and prayed together, and in the process, their faith grew and their lives were enriched.
ARISE is about people like you nourishing and supporting each other as you face the challenges of life.
CCSB invites parishioners to sign-up to participate in small faith-sharing communities that meet in homes, at CCSB, and other locations throughout the parish. Each Season will last six weeks. The first Season starts the first week on October, 2008.
Over the next three years, we have the opportunity to share in the small communities around these basic Gospel themes:

Season II Lent 2009 Change Our Hearts
Season III Fall 2009 In the Footsteps of Christ
Season IV Lent 2010 New Hearts, New Spirit
Season V Fall 2010 We are the Good News!
