Welcome to Corpus Christi St. Bernard's Youth Ministry program
"To fall in love with God is the greatest of all romances; to seek Him the greatest adventure; and to find Him the greatest human achievement." - St. Augustine
The Youth Ministry program is an important part of the complete faith formation of the young. It is very important that students have a strong religious education (catechesis) but a complete youth ministry is composed of several more elements which we aim to provide here at the parish:
- Community Life
- Justice and Service
- Leadership Development
- Pastoral Care
- Prayer and Worship
If you would like to learn more about these and how they are applied, you are welcome to read Renewing the Vision which is the national guide to Youth Ministry.
Our high school youth ministry is designed to help youth develop life-long friendships in a positive Catholic social environment. The program is designed to create a safe, welcoming, and casual environment that youth can feel comfortable challenging and exploring their faith together. This is an age where it is important for teens to engage and integrate the teachings of the faith in order to develop and secure their Catholic identity. There are a lot of pressures at this stage of life and so our youth ministry program is designed to not only be stress relieving (through fun, active, and social gatherings) but also to allow God to be a source of strength and renewal throughout the week.
Middle school is a time where youth learn to explore the world around them, test the values they have been raised with, and discover new freedoms and independence. This program is designed to help them to explore their faith, reinforce their Catholic values with their peers, and develop leadership skills. This program has theme-based events that are always directed towards Jesus in some way. The goal is to create fun, active, and unique experiences for kids to help them bond as a community of faith.
This is a new program and its purpose is not to create a peer group for kids but rather to reinforce the role of the family. Full Family Youth Ministry is for all families that have school-aged children. The events may be limited to only a few families at a time with the purpose of helping families make connections. This way Catholic parents can share the blessings and hardships of raising Catholic kids, at the same time, the children can see that the faith they live at home is also shared (and lived at home) by other families. It allows all participants to gladly share in a community value system while having a great time. The goal of full family youth ministry is to offer support, family to family, for practicing their faith at home.
