Claire Palmer & Mary Lewis
co-chairs of the activities commission
Mary Lewis has been an active member of Corpus Christi-St. Bernard parish since 1997. Over the years she has supported the parish in many roles, including religious education teacher and member of the transition team, when the parishes of Corpus Christi and St. Bernard were merged. The transition team, in an effort to fully embrace all the many activities of each parish community, created what we now know as “commissions”.
Claire Palmer has been a member of our parish since 1970. She worked at the telephone company in the Yellow Pages division for 37 years before retiring in 2000. Claire has two yellow labs, Seamus and Finbar, who are a delight! In 2006 when our parish became Corpus Christi-Saint Bernard, Claire joined the Activities Commission chaired by Mary Belschner. In 2009 Mary Lewis and Claire became Co-Chairs of the Activities Commission.
The Activities Commission is always looking for new members for and would welcome your interest.
Joan McGrath

Joan has been a member of Corpus Christi-St Bernard Parish for 65 years since she was in College at Emmanuel College.
Over the years Joan has participated in multiple programs: College (Chi-Rho), family sacramental activities like First Communion and Confirmation, teaching classes and promoting church-community programs. Our Social Justice commission has grown and activated over the years with great participation of our parishioners and we are still pleased with increased participation throughout each year.
Joan has been part of the Social Justice Commission for 12+ years.
Paula Chesbrough

Following her retirement, Paula responded to God’s call to engage more deeply in parish ministry, in which she has been involved in various ways for over 30 years, by enrolling in the Master of Art in Ministry program at St. John’s Seminary. Paula views participation in lay ministry as an important pathway to discipleship and a deeper relationship with Jesus.
